Get To Know Your Rights
Do you know your rights? It’s crucial to understand that you are entitled to respect and accessibility in every aspect of your life.
Accessibility: Legislation requires that all new buildings be accessible to everyone. Efforts must also be made to enhance accessibility in older structures to accommodate everyone's needs.
Employment: Discrimination in the workplace is illegal. Employers must provide fair opportunities and accommodations for people with disabilities.
Advocacy: Your voice matters! Engage with local politics and communicate your needs and concerns to your Member of Parliament (MP). Whether by email or letter, your MP is there to represent you.
Voting Rights: Remember, having a learning disability does not affect your right to vote. You are entitled to participate fully in elections and have your say.
