Regan Ovendale is either a hero or a glutton for punishment! She is an amazing MacIntyre employee who coordinates Shared Lives Carers in Central Bedfordshire.
About Shared Lives
The Shared Lives scheme supports adults with learning disabilities to live with carers either full-time, temporarily, or on a short-term basis. Shared Lives Carers welcome people into their homes and support them to develop positive relationships with their family members, and also develop skills such as assessing employment and education, learning to cook, and almost anything else you can think of!
Fundraising for MacIntyre
Shared Lives is a wonderful way of supporting people. By fundraising this summer, Regan hopes to spread the word.
To raise funds for MacIntyre, she is completing:
- April – the Flitwick 10km run
- May – the 15km Tough Mudder
- June – the Marston Forest 5km run
- August – the 5km Mud Girl run
About Regan
Here’s what Regan has to say about herself:
Hi everyone, my name is Regan Ovendale and I am the Shared Lives Officer for MacIntyre Charity. I have been in this role for just over a year now and I have created some wonderful relationships with the Carers and people we support in the scheme. I have supported a range of different people to find carers they enjoy spending time with, then take the big step of moving in with them!
Prior to MacIntyre, I worked in a day centre supporting adults with learning disabilities and I also spent some time working in a nursery with children under 5 years old. I absolutely adore working in care and it is something I see myself doing for the rest of my life.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym and keeping fit. I love seeing the sun rise and set. I often go for long walks in the evening to enjoy the scenery and the wonderful world around me.
