Earlier in June, the annual Big Hike returned to the Peak District. Both staff and students joined other adults and young people supported by MacIntyre across the country to camp and hike for up to seven days, covering up to 10 miles each day. This was no easy task on an ordinary day, but the soaring temperatures on a few of the days made it even more of a challenge, which the students faced head-on.
The Big Hike is a brilliant opportunity to meet new people, to work together and to work on skills such as map-reading and increasing independence. The students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and came back with lots of stories to tell.
