On Friday, we were thrilled to learn that Katie Marshall from MacIntyre in Leicester was awarded the 'Complex Support Worker Award' at the National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2019.
The awards bring together outstanding figures from the learning disability and autism sector in England and Scotland and celebrate their successes.
Speaking about Katie, the judges said:
"If you were to mold the perfect support worker Katie would be it. She embodies everything that a fantastic support worker should be. With 18 years working with the same group of people under her belt, her enthusiastic approach means she is constantly looking for new ways to add meaning, fun and quality to their lives.
They added:
"Katie understands what matters, both for the people she supports as well as her colleagues. We’d all love to have Katie on our team – she just oozes trust and compassion!"
