We are very excited to welcome Sebastian Moh in our Senior Leadership Team. Sebastian joins us alongside Emma Killick as Adult Services Director.
Can you tell us about your previous experience?
I’ve always had a passion for people, as well as a keen interest in finance, so it wasn’t a coincidence I found myself working as a Customer Relationship Manager with Abbey National. However, I made a switch to social care almost 20 years ago, initially as a volunteer, working with young people at risk of offending and substance misuse. Volunteering morphed into a full-time opportunity and I haven’t looked back!
I’ve worked at different levels, and in a variety of roles across social care, which have included overseeing services supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, mental health conditions, youth offending and serious youth violence either within local authority and third sector organisations.
What made you apply to MacIntyre?
I became aware of MacIntyre when I began working within Hertfordshire in 2014. I attended a provider’s conference and met two MacIntrye support workers, who spoke so passionately and positively about the work they did to support people with learning disabilities and I recall thinking, I wished all my support workers had this same passion.
I researched MacIntyre and it was clear that we shared very similar values. I kept an eye on MacIntyre and when the right opportunity came along I made an application and I’m delighted to be joining the team!
What do you think you will bring to the role?
I hope that I can add value to the excellent work and initiatives already taking place. I’m keen to understand MacIntyre’s rich culture and history, as well as help to shape our future, both at an operational and strategic level.
I have a genuine interest in seeing people fulfil their full potential and I intend to play my part in helping more people live a life that makes sense to them!
