Earlier this month, the latest edition in the Books Beyond Words series was published, with a little help from MacIntyre's Inspired for Training group.
'Looking After My Eyes' is the 57th book in the series and aims to raise awareness of the importance of regular eye checks. The book, which was published in partnership with charity SeeAbility, also demonstrates the adjustments eye care service providers can make to ensure that an eye test can be accessible for everyone.
Having worked alongside SeeAbility a number of times, the 'Inspired for Training' group were more than happy to provide feedback on the latest Books Beyond Words book before its publication.
Speaking about the group's involvement, Alison Wright, said:
"We've had a connection with Books Beyond Words for a while and have enjoyed reading the series as a group. What is brilliant, is that the books encourage everyone to take part in book sessions."
"We read proposed pages of 'Looking After My Eyes' as a group and recording our reactions and thoughts; providing feedback on whether characters were easily identified or not, how the book appeared visually and whether a landscape book worked best. It was important to make sure each member was heard."
She added:
"We're really proud, the team worked really hard."
‘Looking After My Eyes' is available to order from Beyond Words now.
