This weekend, friends Sarah and Becca will be taking part in the Bedford Twilight 10K in aid of MacIntyre. Having never taken part in a run before, this is a challenge the pair were excited but nervous to take on.
For Sarah, MacIntyre's Health, Dementia and Wellbeing Advisor seeing first-hand how fundraising can make a huge difference to the people we support was motivating.
Referring to the challenge ahead, Sarah began:
"I don't know if I am completely brave or loopy, but I am entering in my first ever 10k. I have not ever run a 10k in my whole little life. This will be a huge personal struggle for me. When I was in my third year of uni I became really poorly and ended up having to have keyhole surgery and since then I have not really got back into a love of exercise. Well, Uni was 10 years ago now so I feel there is no time like the present to make a change."
Sarah will be joining her friend Becca to raise funds for MacIntyre's Memory Cafes, with the funds supporting the launch of a new MacIntyre Memory Cafe in the UK.
