A big shout out and good luck to this year’s #TeamMacIntyre at the London Marathon tomorrow.
Here’s a bit more about each of our runners and why they’ve chosen to take on the event for MacIntyre:
Steve Lockley
Steve works for MacIntyre in Shropshire. He says
So I’ve got an entry into the London Marathon, mad or stupid I'm not sure why I think I can do this, but the great thing is I get to do it for the charity I work for.
Nicola Church
Nicola lives in Milton Keynes and wanted to raise funds for a local charity which supports disabled adults.
Joel Cussons
Joel is the son of Zoey, one of MacIntyre’s frontline managers, and will be raising funds for MacIntyre in Leicester. He recently turned 18 and says:
This is the first year I've been able to do this and I can't wait to finish it.
Joe Gill
Joe is the nephew of one of MacIntyre’s long-time supporters. He says:
It has always been something I have wanted to do, and for a great cause.
Michael Keady
Michael is a racehorse trainer from Bedfordshire. He says:
Training for my first marathon alongside my full-time job of training racehorses is going to be extremely difficult! I would hugely appreciate any donations towards a great cause!
Brigid Greaney
Brigid is running in memory of her daughter Ella who attended MacIntyre School Wingrave. She says:
We are beyond thankful to the team at MacIntyre that provided support and love, over her educational journey but for the amazing educational, respite and fun opportunities that came from that kind of support. Prom Night - something we never thought Ella would have, and the opportunity to attend COLLEGE... can you imagine our joy? Ella attending Abingdon & Witney College, as part of MacIntyre’s No Limits programme - she LOVED it . I want other local children/young adults/friends of Ella's and ours to have these opportunities too.
