In our latest Humans of MacIntyre story, meet Brad, who is a Finance Assistant in MacIntyre's central Finance and Payroll team. He's been with MacIntyre for just over a year.
Starting in finance
You could say that Brad's career has come full circle. He's always had an affinity for numbers, having worked as a Finance Assistant at another charity at the start of his working life.
A move to the Police
That changed shortly after the London bombings in July 2005, which inspired Brad to retrain as a Police Officer with British Transport Police.
A career as a serving police constable gave Brad an insight into the best and worst of human behaviour. He gained an understanding of how vulnerable people are sometimes mistreated. He learned the importance of teamwork, resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
Changing circumstances
It was a rewarding career but circumstances change, and as a new father, Brad wanted to spend more time with his young family. He looked back at those early days and decided to return to the world of finance.
Finding MacIntyre
To prepare for the transition, Brad completed an accountancy qualification. When looking for the right job to match his skills, he saw MacIntyre's advert for a Trainee Finance Assistant. Something really important in looking for a new role was to find an organisation which matched Brad's own values. He saw very quickly that MacIntyre was a great fit.
So here we are, delighted to have Brad bringing his skills, experience and personal qualities to an important role!
Enjoying family and football
Outside of work, Brad tells us he enjoys spending time with his family, and reading. He's also a big football fan and has recently joined MacIntyre's own five-a-side team!
