We have some outstanding employees at MacIntyre and every month one person from each division is chosen to be our Employee of the Month.
Below are the names of the winners in the categories of MacIntyre Adult Social Care, Children and Young People, MacIntyre No Limits™, and Specialist Support Services, together with an extract from their nominations.
Zoe Page – Children & Young People, Wingrave
Zoe is amazing, works so hard and does all she can for the young people. Zoe is a great linkworker for HW and goes above and beyond - really advocates for him and has a great relationship with his parents to make sure he has all he needs. Zoe also does fantastic activity plans for Willow House and makes sure there's lots of fun activities for the young people to do and keep them busy.
Anna Gibbons – MacIntyre No Limits Bedfordshire
Anna is a returning employee who has come back with all of her previous enthusiasm and passion. She is dedicated to her work and is continuously looking for new ways to improve the students’ lives. Currently she is organising and running a garden club which is not only teaching the students a variety of skills but it is also creating an environment that provides joy for all.
Tara Masson – Support Services
Tara was nominated by two colleagues this month:
- Tara is a true Brand Champion, consistently going above and beyond in their voluntary role to showcase the rewards of working in social care. Through detailed, engaging posts on the Wrexham and Wirral Facebook pages, Tara creates vibrant frames that capture the joy and fulfilment felt by those who draw on support. Each post is accompanied by a thoughtful, blog-style caption that embraces “gloriously ordinary lives”, highlighting the incredible work happening locally. Tara’s dedication and pride in bringing these Facebook pages to life make a real difference in how the people of Wrexham and Wirral view MacIntyre and are inspired to connect with us.
- Tara has been with MacIntyre for nearly two years and is an extremely valuable member of the admin team. Her particular talents lie with her social media skills and she has created some lovely Facebook posts to champion all the amazing things that have been happening in the Wirral and Wrexham regions. Tara is also mentioned regularly in the Brand Champion newsletter as a consistently strong content creator. Tara has excellent IT skills and has also helped create some really useful admin tools such as Jobtrain training pathways and the new starter 'to do' packs for the managers. We would like her to be recognised for all her hard work in the team and let her know that we appreciate her.
Zoey Cussons – Adult Social Care
Zoey had several nominations from her colleagues:
- Without having an Area Manager presently, Zoey has stepped in and has given myself so much support. Always there with a smile and offering guidance. Zoey herself has strived to go above and beyond even with her own health condition, to ensure that the people we support live their best lives. Zoey is truly passionate with her role and inspires me with her positive approach and effort that she continually puts in.
- Zoey has worked for Leicester Adult Services for nearly 30 years and is an award winning manager! This, and my admiration for her in this role, was well documented when she recently won the Registered Managers Award at The Great British Care Awards. I wrote then, and stand by now,
- “Zoey has inspired and mentored me to become a better manager, to know that kindness with my time is the most valuable asset I can offer my teams, and that there is not much that can't be improved with dedication, hard work and a sense of humour! I feel incredibly lucky to have worked for and alongside Zoey and have learnt so much from her. Zoey is not one of the world’s "self- promoters" and as such will be mortified to be singled out, and this is one of the reasons I feel she should be! Zoey works hard and with enthusiasm, because she genuinely cares for those we support, their families and the staff teams who support them, all with a genuine desire to make all of their experiences with MacIntyre positive ones, and all with a smile on her face.”
- Zoey has recently taken on extra responsibility as Leicester is without an Area Manager – and Zoey is vigilantly ensuring we still meet compliance and that all of Leicester’s managers feel as supported as I do. This has coincided with Zoey undergoing a double mastectomy after receiving the news that her cancer had returned after nine years. Zoey took a total of three weeks away from work to recover from this, and to be honest was still supporting from behind the scenes.
- Zoey comprehensively embodies the leadership DNA – living it, being visible and supportive, celebrating our staff and individuals supported and responding to connections. Zoey deserves this recognition and more for all she gives to MacIntyre!
- Zoey has recently had a double mastectomy after finding out she has breast cancer for the second time (last time nearly 9 years ago). Zoey did not let this affect her in any way! She carried on with work up until the day before the surgery all whilst attending a number of doctors’ appointments throughout this time. The day of her surgery I’m pretty sure she even checked her emails!!!! Zoey is not one to sit and watch TV at home so was soon working from home and before we knew it she was back in her office. Zoey manages a number of different teams and they couldn’t believe how well she was doing and how strong she was. Zoey has shown courage and strength to her teams. In this team, Leicester doesn’t have a current Area Manager, Zoey has taken on some extra roles and responsibility and is approaching these new tasks well and always with a smile.
- Zoey has recently had a mastectomy and the first thing she did when woke from her operation was to send an email regarding the rota (crazy lady!). The commitment she has to MacIntyre is second to none, I think she deserves to be recognised for this. Zoey will always try her best to accommodate any special requests for her staff as well as the people who draw on support. Her brain must always be in overdrive as she has always got a new plan with something. Zoey manages four staff teams and does it amazingly.
- Zoey has always been a “do anything for anyone” person so has always been amazing but over the past couple of months Zoey has gone through a very challenging time, something that would be so overwhelming and distraught for anyone to go through. Zoey on the other hand has completely smashed her way through the tough and never gave up. She has shown no weakness whatsoever! Although Zoey was off and meant to be resting, she was always there on hand for questions and answers, nothing was ever too much! She's our very own Waring Close Superhero. How she has presented herself all the way through this challenging time like a strong independent she is, I will never know! She needs all the recognition as she absolutely fully deserves it and more! For the last 11 years working at Waring Close she has been so much more than just a manager, a helping hand, guidance and has caring nature to everything. I wouldn't be where I am without her :)
- Zoey is an inspirational manager and sets a good example for all staff. Zoey has recently taken on additional responsibilities even though she has had so much going on in her personal life. Zoey is always pushing herself to be the best manager she can be and has shown how determined she is to ensure the individuals who draw on our support live gloriously ordinary lives.
