MacIntyre is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a multi-year contract with Hertfordshire County Council to continue delivering high quality residential support to children and young people (CYP) aged 11 to 18 with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), and who may also be autistic.
As the current provider of the children’s home, we are excited to be able to continue supporting new and existing young people to gain valuable independence skills, prepare them for adulthood and support them to live a life that makes sense to them.
Staff working at the home have formed strong relationships with the young people living there and we’re delighted that these important relationships can continue to flourish into the future.
As well as supporting the young people within the existing home, the contract provides an option to open a further home suitable for one young person who might not be able to live in a group setting, enabling us to grow our provision and support more young people to lead gloriously ordinary lives.
Laura Busfield, Head of Operations for MacIntyre School & Children’s Homes said:
“We are delighted to continue to work alongside Hertfordshire County Council to provide continued support to children and young people that live at Woodland View and beyond. We have seen first-hand how providing high quality support can have a positive impact on outcomes for young people with learning disabilities, enabling them to take their rightful place in society and take positive steps towards independence. This contract award is incredibly important not only for the young people, but for the team around them who care deeply about providing them with the right opportunities to achieve everything they want out of life”.
