Supporting others in achieving their goals and living their best lives is extremely important to many of our employees, so when people we support in Milton Keynes wanted to enjoy a day out in the sun, there was only one thing to do - a trip to Mead Open Farm!
Many of our employees' jobs revolve around assisting others in having a day full of learning, adventure and imagination and this trip was no different.
Speaking about what inspired the recent trip, Jazzmin (Learning Support Worker) said:
“We realised everyone wanted to go out and enjoy the weather, so I just asked my manager if I could organise a little trip and she said ‘yes!’. It was a short notice random day out.”
Jazzmin added:
“Everyone enjoyed the simple things - the journey, blasting their favourite 80s music and then, when we arrived, just basking. We hadn't been out all together in a while.
We saw animals, and fed some of them. There was even a mini-golf there so John enjoyed that for a while. We enjoyed a big picnic together, then on the way back we went to McDonald’s drive through for a coke. It was just a really fun day out!”
When discussing any future outings with, Jazzmin said:
“They are quite hard to organise but I have so many ideas for outings around the UK, including a day out to the beach which is in the planning. I try to make these trips as enjoyable as possible. A recent favourite trip was the Electra canal boat ride at Campbell Wharf. We took a picnic and enjoyed a two hour boat trip.”
