This online event is for autistic people we support and autistic employees. Parents, siblings and carers are also welcome.
In Hampshire we support six adults in our Registered Care home near Southampton which has been adapted to meet the physical needs of the people who live there.
Rowan Close is located in the heart of the local community, a short walk from local shops and facilities.
Our teams support people with learning disabilities to live a life that is meaningful to them which is reflected in the range of activities available to people, as well as in feedback from family members.
In 2022 a MacIntyre colleague worked with everyone who lives at Rowan Close to create a new mural to reflect their interests – you can find out more in this video:
Being part of the local community is important to everyone. Most recently the team arranged a Santa’s Grotto which was joined by families; neighbours; friends and staff volunteering from past and present.
The event was supported by local businesses, and the local Tesco who donated gifts and food to share and enjoy. The local Fire & Rescue kindly offered their time too and gave everyone a chance to sit in the fire engine.
Rated Good with the Care Quality Commission, the most recent inspection found:
“People living at Rowan Close were very much at the heart of the service. We received positive feedback from relatives, staff and a health professional about the care provided”
“Staff working at the service understood people's needs and supported people in a personalised way. Care was provided respectfully and sensitively, considering people's different needs.”
“Our child is always out and about doing things in the community. They have all the support they need to do what they love doing.”
