MacIntyre goes to Number 10
Date: Fri Nov 2011
Over 80 invited guests joined staff from MacIntyre at a reception at Downing Street this week to mark the creation of an exciting new project.
The event, which was hosted by Samantha Cameron, was in support of MacIntyre's Family Footings, a Department for Education-funded project that helps parents understand and negotiate the special education system by using simple planning tools that bring the family together to work out what is best for the child and the family.
Brenda Mullen, MacIntyre’s Director of Children’s Services commented, ‘The families of disabled children need practical support as soon as possible if they are to achieve the best outcomes for everyone. Family Footings is an important step in the development of co-ordinated health, education and social care systems for disabled children and we are grateful to Mrs Cameron for giving us this unique opportunity to present it to our sector partners’.
